If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that parenthood is the great equalizer. Whether you live in a big city or a small town, drive a truck or a hybrid, boast a Ph.D or never thought much of school — when your baby is screaming at three in the morning, you’re in the same boat. And when you stagger to the crib a few hours later and your baby flashes one of those killer smiles, you know you’ve joined the somewhat lunatic club of parents who would do anything for their children. But as much as we all have in common, our stories of parenthood trace unique narratives; as quickly as our children change, we do too, which is why I never tire of listening to parents, learning from them, laughing with them.
